Who we are
Match to Motion ("we", "us") is the data controller for the information you provide. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@matchtomotion.com.
What we collect
- Identity & contact: your name, city, phone number (via WhatsApp), and optional profile photo.
- Preferences: the sport/discipline, goals, experience, schedule, budget and coaching style you choose.
- Health information (optional): if you choose to share injuries, medical conditions or physical limitations so a coach can support you safely.
- Usage: basic technical data needed to run the service.
Why we use it & our legal basis
We process your data to match you with suitable coaches (or, for coaches, with suitable clients) and to communicate with you on WhatsApp. Our legal basis is your consent. Because health information is a "special category" of data under GDPR, we only process it on the basis of your explicit consent, which you give when you tick the consent box.
Who we share it with
- Coaches: when you're matched, the relevant coach sees the profile details needed to help you (and vice-versa).
- Service providers (processors): Supabase (database hosting, EU region) and Twilio/Meta (WhatsApp messaging). They process data only on our instructions under data-processing agreements.
- We do not sell your data.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored in the European Union (our database is hosted in the EU region).
How long we keep it
We keep your profile while your account is active. You can ask us to delete it at any time, and we remove data we no longer need.
Your rights
- Access a copy of your data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Withdraw your consent at any time
- Object to or restrict processing
- Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens)
